The New Jersey Technology Council (NJTC) provides business support, networking opportunities, information, advocacy, and recognition of technology companies and their leaders. Founded in 1996, NJTC's member companies work together to support their own enterprises while advancing New Jersey's status as a leading technology center in the United States.

The NJTC offers its member companies access to networking, financing resources, expertise and more. A private, not-for-profit membership organization, the NJTC fosters and grows a vibrant entrepreneurial spirit and nurtures a community where great ideas take flight.

FOCUS ON TECHNOLOGIES

The NJTC holds programs in five industry verticals: IT/Software; Telecommunications/Media; Life Sciences; Electronics, Advanced Materials and Manufacturing; and Enviro/Energy. The Council is proud to call the industries’ most exciting companies "members"; they are bringing us an information rich connected world, changing healthcare as we know it, and improving the environment with astounding technologies.

ACCESS TO CAPITAL

The NJTC launched the NJTC Venture Fund in 2001, an $80 million early stage fund dedicated to growing technology right here in New Jersey. As of 2011, the fund was fully deployed having invested in 37 companies. Jumpstart NJ is the region’s most successful network of angel investors. The group is made up of high net worth individual investors collaborating on deals, and as of August 2012 has invested over $30 million.

CONFERENCES

NJTC proudly boasts the most exciting finance conferences in the entire country – the NJTC Capital Conference and the NJTC Venture Conference - which attract hundreds of entrepreneurs and financiers with great ideas and capital to invest. These events are fabulous connectors and grow every year with new faces, innovations, and information.

The NJTC CIO Conference focuses on the leading issues facing technology driven companies; Bootcamp is an intense workshop for entrepreneurs; the Regional Commercialization Conference emphasizes collaboration at every level and between industry and academia; and regularly scheduled technology competitions and summits give members the opportunity to show their wares to the community.

The NJTC Executive Leadership Summit assembles New Jersey's best and brightest high-tech and life science executives for insightful discussions, engaging and successful speakers and practical advice for managing a more profitable company. Sector specific conferences highlight emerging technologies - The NJTC Health Information Exchange Conference highlights the growing market segment of health information technology; the NJTC Fintech Conference addresses the needs of the growing financial sectors as they seek to develop and implement an effective FinTech framework.

RECOGNITION

At the NJTC, we believe members should be spotlighted and recognized for their contributions to the NJ technology community. To that end, the NJTC Awards Gala, which has been called the premier networking event in New Jersey, brings together hundreds of the technology elite in the region to celebrate the "Best of the Year" awards. Each year, the NJTC names CEO’s and CIO’s of the Year and financial execs are lauded at the CFO Awards Breakfast each spring. Also, the most promising technologies are showcased and acknowledged at the NJTC Venture Conference Awards.

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS

As an advocate for technology companies in New Jersey, the NJTC continuously monitors federal and state policies that impact the growth of New Jersey’s technology industry. Our member companies offer strength in numbers which the Council utilizes to inform and educate policy makers on issues that are important to New Jersey's technology community.

EDUCATION FOUNDATION

New Jersey’s best and brightest are lured away every year. The NJTC is committed to stopping the exodus and keeping tomorrow’s highly educated technology workforce right here…we want students to attend NJ universities and launch their careers in New Jersey. In turn, the NJTC Education Foundation brings business and academia together to foster collaborative relationships through teacher visits to member companies, as well as for student internships, and mentoring.
